I gotta a little hankering for some old time tacos! Not a regular at our house actually the first time in all my married life I made tacos this way but it was fun.

MMMM, I was just telling some friends about our old tacos. They want to have a Fiesta so I told them I would have mom teach me/make them for me while she is here next week. Yumm.

I totally remember Mom making the hard shell tacos with that set of blue tongs she also used for fried chicken. You have to shape the taco shell as it fries, holding one half up with the tongs while one half is in the oil. Right, Mom? So weird how those images stick with you, even if you never think about them.

That is what I did with my own white tongs. I know I felt like I had come full circle when I was making them. The smell and everything was so reminisent. My kids were even watching some old tv show which I rarely allow at that time of day. At dinner they were like,"why are you taking a picture of your taco?" I knew that it would stir up some old memories. like sal said those things you never know you remember. It makes me wonder what my kids will remember. (Me blogging) :(

Amazing. I had no idea that was so impressive!

I used the blue tongs last night to fish out the corn cobs, too. :)
